It’s impossible to be positive 24/7, but there are certain things you can do to help you live a more positive life!
Here are some that work for me:
I thought we could start small… It’s infectious and learning to laugh and smile at things that would normally irritate you will change your life! I try and make at least one person smile a day, and it’s a great feeling knowing you impacted that person in a positive way. Positivity breeds positivity.
Listen to music that makes you happy. For me, music is a powerful and emotive weapon. It can lift my spirits, motivate me or break my heart. Choosing the right music can sometimes be all you need to power through a tough day or workout… Which brings me on to my next tip!
Look after yourself
You owe it to yourself to look after yourself! Drinking enough water, getting enough sleep, eating good food that will both energise and nourish my body and regularly working out are all things I do in order to look after myself. The satisfaction you get in return is amazing!
One thing that destroys both positivity and creativity is comparison. This is something I was guilty of in the beginning of my blogging life. I would constantly compare to other bloggers’ Instagram feeds and blog posts and what brands they were working with. It’s very easy to sit wasting your time comparing and emulating, when you could’ve been creating something unique and much more interesting. The same applies to body goals, house goals, car goals, relationship goals or whatever ‘goals’ it may be. There will always be someone that has more in life, and always someone with less. Be grateful, be inspired and don’t let it destroy your positive space!
Learn to say no
I’ve mentioned this before, but learning when to say know no is a powerful thing. I have wasted a lot of my life with people that I don’t like, in jobs I don’t like, in places I don’t like and generally feeling miserable and negative, all because I couldn’t say no. Obviously don’t just start saying no to everything and everyone, but if it isn’t going to impact you positively or make you happy, then say just no!
Be quiet and listen
Sometimes, my voice is the only one people hear and even I get tired of hearing it. Taking time to be quiet and calm and listening to others can help your positivity and mindfulness; perhaps reading a book, stretching/doing yoga, or just sitting with a coffee and focusing on your breathing are all great ways of clearing your mind and helping you to relax and see the bigger picture.
