I was in need of a new phone case after my old one had practically fallen to pieces. I had made the mistake of thinking that just because a phone case is expensive and made out of real leather, that it will last a long time, but that is not the case (bad pun, sorry!)

In fact, it is the craftsmanship, time and care that has gone into the phone case which matters and I realised this as soon as I held the Snakehive Vintage phone case. Each case is handmade, hand-stitched and specifically designed for each phone model, ensuring a perfect fit. My phone clicked perfectly into place, encased in the wear-resistant, soft Nubuck leather.

I wanted to trial the phone case for a couple of weeks before writing my review. I really put phone cases through their paces (I’m a poet, as well as a comedian) My phone has been to hell and back and so have the poor cases that try and protect it.

The Snakehive case was no exception and within two weeks has:

  • Gotten wet on numerous occasions, the most recent being last night when I went swimming and my phone fell out my locker and into a puddle of god knows what (I’m hoping it was just pool water)
  • Been trapped in my car door and dropped multiple times.
  • Gotten covered in sweat from numerous workouts.
  • Gotten oil and other ingredients on it from snapchatting pictures of when I cook food.

…And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I’m right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won’t break me
When I come to call, she won’t forsake me
I’m loving Snakehive instead… (sorry, I’ll stop)

But seriously, the phone case has survived it all and the leather has actually developed more character, with no signs of wear and tear. The stitching is still as strong and tight as the day I got it and I believe I will have this phone case until my phone either breaks or I upgrade, because I have no doubt it will stand the test of time and survive my hectic/blogger lifestyle. It really is a premium product, without the premium price tag.
